01 About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of our website at scorebattle.com, our mobile applications and any related features, content or services we provide (together, the "Platform"). They should be read together with our Privacy Notice (see Section 14) and any additional rules we publish for specific competitions or promotions.
02 Definitions
- Account — the personal profile you create to use the Platform.
- Prediction — a forecast you submit for the outcome or score of a fixture.
- Fixture / Match — a football match made available for prediction.
- League — a public or private group in which Users compete on a leaderboard.
- Points — the in-game score awarded for predictions; Points have no monetary value.
- User / you — any person who accesses or uses the Platform.
- Content — any text, images, names, results, statistics, software and other material available on the Platform.
03 Eligibility & age
To use ScoreBattle you must be at least 18 years old (or such higher age required by the laws of your country). The Platform is not intended for children and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register or compete.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and you must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of your country of residence. We may restrict access from territories where the Service would be unlawful or impractical to provide.
04 Your account
You must register an Account to participate. When you register you agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your Account.
- You may not share, sell or transfer your Account, or create an Account using another person's identity.
- One person may hold only one Account unless we expressly permit otherwise. Multiple or automated ("bot") accounts used to manipulate leaderboards are prohibited.
- You must notify us promptly at support@scorebattle.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your Account.
05 The service
ScoreBattle lets you predict the results of football matches across a range of competitions, earn Points based on the accuracy of your predictions, climb global and private leaderboards, and compete with friends. Features may include pre-match predictions, live in-match challenges, private leagues, statistics and notifications.
The fixtures and competitions available may change over time. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, fixtures, competitions or rules at any time to improve the Service, comply with the law, or for operational reasons. Participation is free; we are not obliged to keep any particular fixture, league or feature available.
06 Predictions & scoring
Predictions must be submitted before the cut-off time shown for each fixture (usually kick-off). Once submitted, a prediction is locked and cannot be changed. If a prediction is not received before the cut-off, it will not score.
Points are awarded automatically according to the scoring rules published on the Platform, which may be updated from time to time. Points are purely a game score: they have no cash value, cannot be exchanged, redeemed, transferred or withdrawn, and do not constitute money, credit or any financial instrument.
Match results are taken from the data sources we use. Where a fixture is abandoned, postponed, rescheduled, or where a result is later corrected by the official authority, we may void, recalculate or re-settle the affected predictions. Our determination of results, scoring and rankings is final, save for manifest error.
07 Private leagues
You may create or join private leagues and invite others using an invite link or code. If you create a private league, you are responsible for the people you invite and for any name or description you give the league, which must comply with the acceptable-use rules in Section 11.
When you accept an invitation, your display name, avatar and league standings may be visible to other members of that league. We are not responsible for the conduct of other league members.
08 Prizes & rewards
From time to time we may run competitions or promotions that offer prizes or rewards. Any such prize is subject to its own specific rules published at the time, which form part of these Terms for that promotion. Unless a promotion expressly states otherwise:
- standard gameplay does not entitle you to any cash payment, and Points are never redeemable for money;
- we may verify eligibility before awarding any prize and may disqualify Users who breach these Terms or attempt to cheat;
- where required, you are responsible for any taxes arising from a prize you receive.
09 Not a gambling service
ScoreBattle is a free, skill-based prediction game. It is not a betting, gambling or wagering service. You do not stake or risk money to play, and Points have no monetary value and cannot be cashed out. No payment is required to participate in standard gameplay.
ScoreBattle does not accept bets, hold customer funds for wagering, or operate as a bookmaker, and it does not require a gambling licence to provide the prediction game described in these Terms.
10 Third-party & affiliate links
The Platform may display links or advertisements to third-party websites or services, including, in certain territories, licensed sports-betting operators. These are provided for information and convenience only.
- Some links may be affiliate links, meaning we may receive a commission if you register with or use a third party after following the link, at no extra cost to you.
- Third-party services are operated independently and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, products, services or practices.
- Any decision to gamble is entirely your own. Gambling involves financial risk and may be subject to age and licensing restrictions in your country. Please gamble responsibly. If gambling is affecting you, support is available through your national responsible-gambling organisation.
11 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
- cheat, collude, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or automated means to gain an unfair advantage or distort leaderboards;
- upload or display content that is offensive, defamatory, hateful, harassing, obscene, or that infringes the rights of others;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems, or to interfere with, disrupt or overload them;
- scrape, copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service or its data without our written permission;
- circumvent any security, geo-restriction or rate-limiting measure.
12 User content
You may provide content such as a username, avatar, league names and messages ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and use it as necessary to operate and promote the Service.
You are responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not breach these Terms or any law. We may remove or moderate User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms.
13 Intellectual property
The Platform, including its software, design, logos, the "ScoreBattle" name and all related Content (other than your User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it.
No affiliation. ScoreBattle is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or authorised by FIFA, UEFA, any football league, club, broadcaster or governing body, and any third-party names, marks or fixtures referenced are used for identification and descriptive purposes only and remain the property of their respective owners.
14 Data protection & GDPR
We respect your privacy and process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR"), the UK GDPR, and other applicable data-protection laws. This section summarises how we handle your personal data; full details are set out in our Privacy Notice.
14.1 Data controller

14.2 What we collect
- Account data — name or username, email address, password (stored encrypted), and your country.
- Gameplay data — your predictions, Points, league memberships and rankings.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP.
- Usage & cookie data — how you interact with the Platform (see Section 15).
- Communications — messages you send us and your contact preferences.
14.3 Why we process it, and our legal bases
- Performance of a contract — to create your Account, run the game, calculate scores and manage leagues.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Platform secure, prevent cheating and fraud, and improve our Service (balanced against your rights).
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, optional analytics and marketing communications; you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
14.4 Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without affecting transactional emails relating to your Account.
14.5 Sharing & international transfers
We share personal data only with service providers ("processors") who help us run the Platform — for example hosting, transactional email and analytics providers — under contracts that require them to protect your data. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your personal data.
14.6 Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law. When you delete your Account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information for legal or security reasons.
14.7 Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any right, contact us at support@scorebattle.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, your national data-protection authority in the EEA, or the ICO in the UK) if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.
14.8 Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege practices — to protect your personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
16 Availability & changes
We aim to keep the Platform available but we provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, and access may be limited during periods of high demand, such as major tournaments. We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service.
17 Disclaimers
The Platform, including all fixtures, odds, statistics and results, is provided for entertainment and informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that any data, result or content is complete, accurate or up to date, and you should not rely on it as the official record of any match or as advice of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
18 Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity;
- we are not liable for the acts, content or services of any third party, including betting operators linked from the Platform;
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to [e.g. EUR 100].
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that are not affected by these Terms.
19 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your infringement of any law or third-party right, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
20 Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your Account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your Account or access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we suspect cheating, fraud or unlawful activity, or where required by law. On termination, your right to use the Platform ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law) will continue to apply.
21 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by a reasonable method (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
22 Governing law & disputes
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would, however, always encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue directly.
